Based on the sediment sequence from Marboré Lake (42°41′44.27″N, 0° 2′24.07″E, 2612 m a.s.l), we have selected lithological, compositional and pollen data to represent the main changes in the lake and the region during the last 15,000 years.
In order to identify examples of how to efficiently move from theory to practice in climate change adaptation, the OPCC launches a call for good climate change adaptation practices that have been implemented or are being implemented in the Pyrenees. Feel free to send us your good adaptation practice!
On Saturday the 15th of June 2019 took place in Jaca (Huesca) the EcoPiriDay, an event aimed at raising awareness of the importance of protecting the environment and showcasing the work done by POCTEFA projects in the Pyrenees on this theme.
On 26 and 27 June 2019, the Conservatoire botanique national des Pyrénées et de Midi-Pyrénées (CBNPMP) and the Observatoire pyrénéen du changement climatique (OPCC) are organising a seminar on the ecological restoration of high altitude sites with plants of local origin in Bagnères-de-Bigorre (France, Hautes-Pyrénées).
It is crucial for the OPCC to make the data it has collected on the impacts of climate change in the Pyrenees available to the general public. It raises awareness of future ecological and socio-economic issues in the cross-border region and promotes the implementation of various actions by sectorial and political actors to face these new challenges.
The indicator increased by 8.74% over the 2005-2014 period, in relation with the launch and deployment of adaptation measures and actions throughout Catalonia.
