Facing Climate Change - Climate Innovation

Martes, 21 Mayo, 2019

Date: 21st May 2019

Time: 9:30am - 12pm

Place: Antoni Tàpies Foundation (C/d'Aragó, 255, Barcelona)

On the 21st of May 2019 will take place the 9th session of the Re-City conference series "Facing Climate Change" tackling Climate Innovation.

Climate change is affecting the system that has allowed the current standard of living in developed countries. How can we maintain this high standard of living without compromising the Earth? Anthropic changes deeply transform natural systems. Therefore, technology must incorporate criteria that regenerate and reinforce the optimal conditions of the biosphere. What technologies make the planetary sustainability possible? Can technology curb climate change? What criteria must be considered when developing technological innovation?

The guest speaker on this occasion will be Dr. Kirsten Dunlop, Chief Executive Officer at EIT Climate-KIC (Knowledge and Innovation Community) since 2017 - the EU's largest public-private partnership addressing climate change through innovation by achieving deep decarbonisation across cities, while tackling land use, agriculture and industrial manufacturing, and securing finance.
